I hate that we have gotten to the point where we are worried about every deal that is signed in the NFL because of how it may or may not affect the Tennessee Titans and Chris Johnson, but that is where we find ourselves. ESPN is reporting that the Philadelphia Eagles and Michael Vick have agreed to a six-year $100 million dollar deal with around $40 million in guaranteed money.
This deal isn't really relevant to the CJ negotiations because Vick is a quarterback and quarterback get more money that other players. That's just the way it is.
I can see CJ's camp spinning this to their side though because the Eagles were willing to invest that type of money in a guy that has had a lot of off the field problems in the past. CJ has been a model citizen as far as that stuff is concerned, and his camp will say that the team shouldn't be hesitant to spend similar money on him.
