Alfie Crow from Big Cat Country asks the question "Why Can't the Jaguars win with Blaine Gabbert?" The quarterback situation in Jacksonville between Gabbert and David Garrard is a little bit different than the one here between Matt Hasselbeck and Jake Locker. Down there it is pretty much an open competition, and a lot of people are saying that Gabbert is ahead. The point Alfie makes is a good one. If Gabbert is a better player the team will be better.
Nate Dunlevy at 18to88 looks at how soon is too soon to pass judgement on last year's first round pick Jerry Hughes. MDC from Battle Red Blog looks at how teams have done in their first season of switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4 with Wade Phillips at the helm. I think the most interesting part of the transition to watch is going to be the move by Mario Williams from DE to OLB. He apparently didn't look all that comfortable in the first preseason game, but that isn't really surprising considering he has only been doing it for a couple of weeks.
