Kenny Britt is still being held back until his hamstring is fully healed. Britt is chomping at the bit to get back in the mix on the field. Munchak sounds not all that disappointed with Britt, who has helped his case by being in camp early on and being active and paying attention to what's being asked of the WRs. Palmer also had good things to say about Britt's dedication:
"Kenny’s done a very good job in the classroom," Palmer said. "We were out there on the goal line (earlier this week), and we signaled something to him. Bang, he got it right, which indicates to me that even though he may not be running, he’s getting his reps mentally."
For the first time since he got here, Mike Reinfeldt is handling something terribly in a very public way. His statements to the press about wanting to pay Chris Johnson dropped like a lead balloon with fans and the press. Very rarely do you see the kind of momentum building on the side of a player who is holding out as you've seen over the past week with CJ. Mikey has got to drop this asinine contention that CJ has to show up for the negotiations to move forward. If you're serious about wanting CJ there, then meet with his agent and work on an agreement that would get CJ close enough to a deal to get him in camp. If you're going to play hardball, then don't be making statements to the contrary in the press.
I've been waiting for 2 years to read this headline:
Cook works his way into probable starring role for Titans
Cortland Finnegan is excited about the reps he's been getting in the nickel spot so far in camp. Finny has played the outside CB spot since his rookie season, but the nickel might be a great way to get the most out of his size, aggressive instincts, big-hit style and blitzing skills. The only thing that might be shaky about it is if diminutive Finny gets matched up on large TEs regularly. That might be how teams attack this package.
Sen'Derrick Marks is still recovering from off-season shoulder surgery. He's slated to be the starter at the moment. He hasn't practiced fully yet, and it looks like it could be the final preseason game before Marks takes the field.
Boclair believes that Munchak's first training camp is bringing out a level of enthusiasm and competition that were missing from Jeff Fisher's final few camps. The lack of two-a-days and compressed timeframe for this camp are probably enough to shake it up this year, but Munchak is definitely winning over fans and the press who watched players jog through Fisher's recent camps.
I still miss Jim Washburn. I'm still hopefully we're seeing articles like this about Tracy Rocker pretty soon.
Two years about the Titans caught a lot of flak for offering a no-name Packers return man and reserve CB $4.5 million. The Packers matched the deal to keep their man, and Jarrett Bush has rewarded them handsomely by blossoming into a key part of their Super Bowl run. This season, he's got his sights set on winning an even bigger role from week one of the season.
