Would Ravens Safety Dawan Landry Be a Good Fit for the Titans?

There is a good chance that the Tennessee Titans will be looking to add safety whenever the free agency period starts. They have a few young guys on the roster that will compete for a job in Nick Schommer, Robert Johnson and Myron Rolle, but it doesn't seem from everything I've read that any of those guys are the answer.

One guy that is going to get some attention on the free agent market is Baltimore Ravens safety Dawan Landry. I asked Bruce from Baltimore Beatdown for his thoughts on Landry. Here is what he had to say:

I think there is a slim chance that Dawan Landry returns to the baltimore Ravens in 2011. He is an unrestricted free agent and his performance in 2010 was not as good as it has been in the earlier parts of his career. Ever since he was knee'd in the head against the Cleveland Browns a few seasons ago, he has not been the same player.

In addition, the Ravens have two other safeties who could probably start for most NFL teams in Tom Zbikowski and Haruki Nakamura.

Finally, with all the free agents that the Ravens may have, depending on the final outcome of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, they will have other priorities for their money rather than putting it in Landry's pockets.

So it doesn't seem that Bruce is too high on Landry.

Landry would seem to be a pretty good fit for the Titans if they do end up cutting Chris Hope because he can fill the strong safety role.
