Matt Hasselbeck and the Tennessee Titans Agree to Terms

[Related update below the jump - AW]

Multiple media outlets are reporting that Matt Hasselbeck and the Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms on a deal. It is reportedly a multi-year deal, but I haven't seen anything about the money yet. It is good to have this officially under the belt so the Titans can move on to whatever is next on their priority list.

Assuming the Titans get Chris Johnson here before the season starts, this offense has a chance to be pretty good in 2011. Hasselbeck isn't going to set the world on fire, but he is a steady hand that can manage an offense highlighted by CJ and Kenny Britt*.

We know that Hasselbeck and Jake Locker have the same agent, and I have heard they have a good relationship, so Hasselbeck seems like a really good choice on the mentoring front as well. Those mentoring relationships can be tricky, see Favre and Rodgers, but this one seems like it will be a positive for the long-term development of Locker.
