Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times is reporting that the Seattle Seahawks have decided to sign free agent quarterback Tavaris Jackson who was most recently with the Minnesota Vikings. That means the end of the Matt Hasselbeck era in Seattle. This is an interesting move by the Seahawks. I am not sold on Hasselbeck as a solution at quarterback, but he is better than Jackson.
As I said earlier, the market for Hasselbeck is going to shrink. Jim Wyatt tweeted earlier that he thinks the Hasselbeck sweepstakes is going to come down the San Francisco 49ers and the Titans. It very likely could just be the Titans if the 49ers re-sign Alex Smith. That really would be best case scenario for the Titans. I still think that Hasselbeck is the best of the available quarterbacks, and it is win, win, win for the Titans if they are able to get him without giving him a bunch of money.
