2011 NFL Free Agency: PFT Lists Their Top 80 Free Agents

New, comments

Today is going to be a fun day. I have already seen "tweets" from guys like Brett Kern, Akeem Ayers, and Colin McCarthy saying they are on their way to the Tennessee Titans facility at Baptist Sports Park. Jim Wyatt "tweeted" that he is staked out at BSP waiting to see who the first players to arrive are. The buzz around all of this is crazy, but what else would you expect with the lockout being lifted?

Today also marks the day that teams can start negotiating with free agents. They can't actually sign anyone until Friday at 5 PM Nashville time. Pro Football talk put out their list of the top 80 unrestricted free agents this morning.

Here are the guys from the list that I think the Titans should be interested in:

5. Zach Miller, Raiders TE
8. Marshall Yanda, Ravens G
10. Sidney Rice, Vikings WR
17. Davin Joseph, Bucs G
20. Eric Weddle, Chargers S
24. Kevin Boss, Giants TE
27. Harvey Dahl, Falcons G
34. Matt Hasselbeck, Seahawks QB
49. Michael Huff, Raiders S

Some thoughts from that list after the jump.

  • I don't expect the Titans to add a free agent tight end like Miller or Boss, but it sure wouldn't hurt to have a complete guy to go along with Jared Cook and Craig Stevens.  The one thing that I definitely don't want is someone to come in and stunt the growth of Cook.
  • The only reason the Titans should add a WR is if he is a game changer like Rice.  I am very high on Damian Williams, and I think the trio of Kenny Britt, Williams and Nate Washington can actually be really good.  I don't want them to bring in another mid-level guy.
  • Here is PFT's line on Dahl- " If you want to inject your line with a little nastiness, Dahl is your guy." Yes, please.
  • I don't think I really need to add anything else on Hasselbeck.
  • SuperHorn loves Michael Huff.
  • I don't expect the Titans to be involved in the Weddle swepstakes, but he would be a nice addition.
