Brian McIntyre of Football Outsiders wrote and article for ESPN.com (In$ider) talking about the first thing each team needs to do when the lockout is finally over. You will not be surprised to see what he said the Titans should do:
First-round quarterback Jake Locker could use a season under a veteran mentor, and with Kerry Collins retiring, Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt could move quickly to sign Hasselbeck if Seattle lets him reach the market. Reinfeldt negotiated Hasselbeck's last contract with the Seahawks, and Hasselbeck and Locker are no strangers, sharing both the football spotlight in the Emerald City the past few years and the services of player agent David Dunn.
Jason LaCanfora predicted tonight on NFL Network that Hasselbeck will be the opening day starter for the Tennessee Titans. The Hasselbeck to the Titans things is becoming one of those things that is so widely rumored that it can't possibly happen. There is no doubt in my mind that he is their first choice, but it remains to be seen if he is willing to accept the mentor role.
