That headline is absolutely terrifying because it is true. If we believe what Mike Munchak has said, that he is happy with the interior of the offensive line and thinks the team can win with those guys, then Eugene Amano is going to be an extremely important player.
It isn't like Amano is a terrible offensive lineman. He wasn't the best guard in the world, but he played pretty well there back in 2009. They moved him to center last season and he was terrible. Why is that? I really don't know, but I hope Munch and Bruce Matthews are going to figure that out and change it in 2011.
They cannot allow Amano to be the starting center if he is going to be as bad as we last year. The good news is they have a couple of other players, Kevin Matthews and Fernando Velasco, that have some experience playing center. The bad news is I am not convinced that either of those guys is the answer.
It is going to be Amano's job to lose when camp opens if for nothing else because of all the money he is scheduled to make.
