2010 Tennessee Titans Film Review: Second Half Week 1 vs. Oakland

One of the first things I noticed about the second half of the week one game between the Oakland Radiers and Tennessee Titans was all-world special teamer Donnie Nickey getting blown up while trying to cover a punt.

Vincent Fuller sniffed out a screen early in the second half. I still don't have any idea what happened to Vinny in the second half of the season.

Here is something that I found astonishing while re-watching the game- Radiers TE Zach Miller didn't get his first catch of the game until the third quarter.

Jason McCourty made a really nice play when Oakland ran a throwback to QB Jason Campbell. He blew the play up before it was able to develop.

The Titans had a big lead entering the second half so you saw a lot of the run, run, pass that Jeff Fisher loved so much.

Something else astonishing- Chris Hope picked a pass that was intended for Miller. Not only did Hope pick the pass, but Will Witherspoon was actually there in coverage as well.

Vince Young made a beautiful throw to Bo Scaife for a TD after the Hope interception. There are still times where it makes me sad that VY couldn't get his crap together because he shows flashes of having special ability.

The Titans get the ball back up 38-13 with less than 10 minutes left in the game and Chris Johnson is still in there while the Titans run, run, pass. We saw that way too much last season. I hope the new staff is smart enough to get him off the field in times like that one.

The Titans get the ball back with the same score and 6:17 left on the clock, and CJ is still in the game. They finally go to Javon Ringer on the next possession and he runs the ball better than CJ did on the previous two drives.

I remember feeling really good about this team after this game. That didn't last long, but it sure was fun while it lasted.
