FOX Sports Ranks NFL Franchises: Tennessee Titans 30th

New, comments

Adam Schein of Fox Sports put together a ranking of all 32 NFL franchises. He ranked each franchise based on six things: owner, quarterback, coach, front office, coaching staff and intangibles. Each category was given a ranking from 1-10.

You won't be surprised that the defending champion Green Bay Packers came in first. You also want be surprised that the Titans came in near the bottom at #30. The only teams ranked lower than the Titans were the Carolina Panthers and Buffalo Bills.

Here is how Schein ranked the Titans and what he had to say about them:

30. Tennessee Titans: 17.5

Owner: 1
Quarterback: 2
Coach: 3
Front office: 4
Coaching staff: 5.5
Intangibles: 2

What if I told you in 2009 that both Jeff Fisher and Vince Young would be ex-Titans in 2011? This team has issues.

There is no explanation of what intangibles means, so it is hard to know how he came up with that number.

Bud Adams is by no means the best owner in the NFL, but I also don't think he deserves a 1.  A lot of the Adams hate is based off of things that he did a long time ago, and the reputation he has for being cheap- which really isn't true.  The team hasn't spent a lot of money on high-priced free agents recently, but they did in the Floyd Reese era.  That leads me to believe that the current approach to free agency is a Mike Reinfeldt decision.

You also have to keep in mind that Bud paid Randy Moss a lot of money to (allegedly) play for the Titans for half of a season last year.
