The league has looked into accusations of improper contact between teams and players, but
they didn't find anything wrong. My guess is the exact opposite was the case: they realized everyone was doing it, and the owners didn't feel much like punishing themselves.
Lance Briggs, who signed a $36 million contract back in 2008, says that
there's no reason players shouldn't be able to weather the financial burden of the lockout.
