As smash posted last night, Titans WR Kenny Britt was arrested in New Jersey yesterday following a car chase in New Jersey. He was charged with eluding a police officer, lying to a police officer and hindering apprehension and obstructing governmental function following a stop according to Jim Wyatt. Eluding an officer is a third-degree felony. The other two are misdemeanors.
It sure doesn't seem like Kenny Britt is ever going to grow up. You have to love that he went with the Shaggy defense when police caught up to him later, "Wasn't Me." These stupid little incidents keep piling up against him, and he has to be pretty close to face some type of punishment from the league. It really is a shame because he has a chance to be one of the best receivers in the game, but it is stuff like this, that we have seen time and time again with him, that keep him from reaching that potential.
Jeff Fisher, on his final radio show as the head coach of the Titans, said what Kenny Britt needed more than anything was a drama free offseason. Unfortunately that won't happen this year.
UPDATE: (by gmoney of course)
From John Glennon's Twitter:
#Titans' WR Kenny Britt has been assigned court date of April 19 in Hudson County (NJ) Superior Court. He was arrested on 3 charges on Tue.
That is a pretty quick court date. Looks like we'll know more info within the week.
