John McClain of the Houston Chronicle has done his first mock draft of the year, and honestly it is a little crazy. He has Blaine Gabbert as the #1 overall pick to the Carolina Panthers, and Clemson DE Da'Quan Bowers falling to the Titans at #8:
New coach Mike Munchak is desperate for a starting quarterback but can't pass the best 4-3 end, who'll be a bookend to Derrick Morgan.
I do find it hard to believe that the Titans would be able to pass on Bowers if he is on the board at 8, but I can't see any scenario where he stays around that long. It sure would be nice to see a defensive front with Morgan and Bowers getting after the quarterback.
McClain also has Cam Newton going to the Cardinals at 5. Newton and Gabbert both being off the board when the Titans name is called is best case scenario. The only other quarterback he has going in the first round is Jake Locker to the Seahawks at #25.
