2011 MCM Mock Draft - Pick #44

With the 44th pick of the 2011 Music City Miracles Mock Draft, the Detroit Lions (represented by dreese) select:

Rodney Hudson, OG, Florida State University

From dreese:

After a slow start at the Senior Bowl, Hudson cranked it up a notch and opened monster holes for his running backs which is just what the Lions need to get a ground game going with their two talented running backs.

I've always been high on Hudson and even though his stock has slipped a bit this year, I couldn't resist grabbing him knowing that he'd be an instant upgrade on a god-awful line. He can play both guard positions (and even some center), has fantastic footwork, and even though he added some bulk to his 6-2 frame, he's still nearly just as agile as he used to be.

Hudson lacks the immense size of Marcus Cannon and the bloodline and reputation of Mike Pouncey, but he still has a lot to offer to any pro team who's willing to pick him up.
