Todd McShay joins the growing number of mock drafts (warning: paywall) that have us taking Nick Fairley, but the most interesting development is Marcel Dareus moving into the top spot and Von Miller at the second spot. It's not very often you'll see a LB and a DT that could go in the top two picks of a strong draft.
The Tennessean keeps trying to convince me that Randy Moss was once a Titan, but I'm still not buying it. Moss spoke with a Minneapolis radio station about the depression he entered after being cut by the Vikings and spending the next few months bumming around Nashville.
Rouston Webster, the Titans' VP of player personnel and Mike Reinfeldt's most trusted personnel man, led a healthy Titans contingent to watch Christian Ponder at the FSU pro day workout yesterday. The reviews of Ponder's performance across the web have been glowing, and don't be surprised if he worked his way into the late-first round mix, and possibly ahead of Jake locker on more than a few draft boards across the league.
TitansInsider.com continues their series of evaluations on the QBs in this draft with Christian Ponder. Not a lot of new info here (very polished, prototype west coast QB, better athlete than people realize, etc.), but you can really hear how much Ponder has won over some very experienced personnel people.
John Glennon says the Titans will see a 'different' Blain Gabbert at the MIssouri pro day today; specifically, Gabbert will take all of his snaps from under center. Gabbert declined to throw at the combine, so he has the chance to make or lose a lot of money today.
Jason Babin: still kind of a tool. He's one hell of a pass rusher in the right system, and seems like a good father to his boys, but his comments in the press and on Twitter over the past through months are very tool-esque.
Thorchak had a comment in this profile of Boston College OT Anthony Castonzo.
So we finally get a long-term fix at the kick return position, and now the NFL seems to be moving to marginalize kick returns by moving the kick-off point and moving the touchback spot to the 25 yard line.
Is there anything more pointless than a one-team 7 round mock draft? Yes: a one team 7 round mock draft on Bleacher Reports.
