Paul K reacts to the news that Mike Munchak has basically been hired as the next coach of the Tennessee Titans. It's tough to pass judgement on a guy who's operated outside of the spotlight like Munch has, so I'll wait until we see how successful he is at assembling a staff. The one thing I do like about the hire is that Munch won't try to run everything. He's expected to be more of a consensus builder than a dictator.
Yahoo! contributor Sean Mitchell interviews Kevin Dyson, who has some good bits on the Music City Miracle, among other things.
Jim Wyatt says the Titans should consider Matt Flynn for the QB spot. Flynn won a National Championship at LSU, and has spent the past three years on the bench in Green Bay. In his limited opportunities this season Flynn has posted ok numbers: 40 of 66/433 yards/3 TDs/2 INTs. Not to read too much into one start, but surely we can do better than that.
Falcon's fans are/should be breathing a sigh of relief that Mike Mularkey won't be heading to Nashville.
The growing number of coaches on the hot seat may push Kevin Kolb's trade value into the range of the absurd. You can bank on the Titans to pass on him if that ends up being the case. There are other options that will be cheaper and perhaps a better fit ...like maybe potentially ousted veterans Alex Smith or Donovan McNabb?
Former-Titan Peter Sirmon is the new linebacker's coach at the University of Tennessee.
SB Nation at large has a new mock draft, and they have us taking Blaine Gabbert. Nice to se them join the movement to make this kid rich, despite a seemingly complete lack of substantive reasons why he should go so high.
