UPDATE: Jim Skipper Named Titans Running Backs Coach

UPDATE: Jim Skipper has officially been hired. This is another great hire by Munchak. The only spot that remains open on the coaching staff is for the receivers.

The #Titans have hired Jim Skipper as running backs coach.less than a minute ago via TweetDeck

Skipper was the running backs coach with the Carolina Panthers from 2002-2009.  He did an excellent job there with the two-headed swaggerjacking monster of DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart.

Not only does he have an awesome name, but he was also the head coach of the San Francisco Demons in the XFL.  That's right, the XFL!  I am willing to bet that if Skipper joins the staff, the Titans will have the first ever staff that consists of former head coaches from the UFL and XFL.  Doesn't get much better than that.

In all seriousness, Skipper has a really good track record of working with NFL running backs over the past 20+ years.  It looks like he would be an excellent addition to the staff.  I really like what Munchak has done with the position coaches so far.
