2011 MCM Mock Draft - Pick #29

With the 29th pick of the 2011 Music City Miracles Mock Draft, the Chicago Bears (represented by Josh Baker) select:

Derrok Sherrod, OT, Mississippi State University

From Josh Baker:

The Bears had a great season and somehow made it to the NFC championship game. The unfortunate part of that for them is that it leaves them with such a low draft pick. However, they are lucky enough that one of their glaring needs still has one of the best, if not the best, players still available at that position in Derek Sherrod. The Bears offensive line got better as the season went on, but they were still a horrendous group and allowed Cutler to be sacked more than any other QB this season. Sherrod gives them a solid bookend for years to come.

The other positions the Bears need to fill are: Defensive Tackle, Strong Safety, Wide Receiver, and all other Offensive Line positions.

Other considerations included: Stefen Wisniewski (C, Senior, Penn State), Corey Liuget (DT, Junior, Illinois), and Stephen Paea (DT, Senior, Oregon State). In my opinion, Sherrod filled the most glaring of all of the Bears needs and I couldn’t believe he was still on the board. He was truly a steal with the 30th pick.
