2011 MCM Mock Draft - Pick #25

With the 25th pick of the 2011 Music City Miracles Mock Draft, the Seattle Seahawks  (represented by asian phil) select:

Jake Locker, QB, Washington

From asian phil:

The Seahawks were 7-9 last season and were able to win the NFC West and beat the New Orleans Saints in the Wild Card Playoff game. Do the Seahawks look to "reload" and add a few more key pieces to areas of need in OL/DL/CB or enter somewhat of a rebuilding phase by selecting a much needed QB? Matt Hasselbeck turns 36 this year, and as of right now hasn't been re-signed. The back-up Charlie Whitehurst doesn't seem to be anything more than just that: a back-up. By selecting the hometown hero Jake Locker, the Seahawks get a QB that the team has needed for a few years now. Pete Carroll should be familiar with Locker's skill set as he saw him frequently while coaching against the Huskies for USC, and Locker's mobility should be beneficial for the Seahawk's run oriented offense. I know many are not high on Locker as a 1st round pick, but the Seahawks are in desperate need of a playmaker on offense. Jake Locker probably won't be a stat monster at the QB position, but he can provide the Seahawks some stability at QB and be the new face of their franchise.
