The Titans and the 2012 NFL Draft

Dan Kadar of Mocking the Draft put out a two round 2012 NFL mock draft yesterday over at his site. He has the Titans taking Peter Konz, C, Wisconsin with the 17th pick in the first round. Here was what he had to say about the pick:

Center is a position the Titans were expected to address in the draft last year, but decided to go with a quarterback and help on defense. Konz missed the last few games of Wisconsin's season, but he's the center equivalent of DeCastro. He's that good.

There is no doubt the interior of the offensive line needs to be overhauled, but I have a hard time seeing them taking a center with this pick.

He still had Alshon Jeffery on the board at #17. The Titans should be all over him if he is there. Want to make sure Jake Locker succeeds? Give him Kenny Britt on one side and Jeffery on the other.

Kadar has the Titans taking Vinny Curry, DE, Marshall in the second round. Here is what he had to say about that pick:

Although they've added several nice pieces to the defense, the Titans need more speed getting after the passer. Curry is a natural 4-3 end with good quickness off the line of scrimmage.

That sounds like a winner to me.
