Here is Mike Clay's breakdown of snaps played for the Titans skill players on Sunday against the Steelers:
Damian Williams played 62 snaps in Week 5, which was one more than Nate Washington. Williams has a clear hold on the No. 2 WR job over Lavelle Hawkins, who was in on 49 plays, and is pushing Washington for the top WR title. Marc Mariani (seven snaps) played over Donnie Avery (three), who is still learning the system. Jared Cook was in the game on what was easily a season-high 57 snaps. Daniel Graham handled 19. Chris Johnson was in on 40 snaps, which tied the season-low he set in Week 4. Javon Ringer enjoyed a season-high 28 snaps, 25 of which were pass plays.
One point of clarification- Williams is not pushing Washington for the top receiver spot. I am pleased with where D-Will is since Kenny Britt went out, but he is not anywhere close to taking over Nate's spot.
