Source: Titans to Keep Jeff Fisher; Make Staff Changes

Albert Breer of NFL.com is reporting today that he is hearing from multiple sources that the Tennessee Titans will keep Jeff Fisher as the head coach and make changes to the current staff. We have kicked around the topic of Chuck Cecil and whether or not Fisher would be willing to fire him, and it sounds like Bud Adams is going to force his hand there. Cecil might not be the only casualty. When you look at the current staff the only assistants that should be untouchable are the two line coaches, Mike Munchak and Jim Washburn. There is no one else on that staff that has really proven anything.

The other interesting thing will be what happens with Mike Heimerdinger. He is still undergoing cancer treatments, so at this point I doubt anyone has any idea what his willingness or ability will be to come back in 2011. I don't think he is a guy that Bud would be forcing Fisher to replace, but all sides might come to an agreement that the best thing for all parties is for Dinger to take some time to get better.

Here is an interesting tidbit from the above linked article:

Fisher, who will leave Nashville on Friday to go to Arizona to see his son, Trent, play for Auburn in the BCS national championship game against Oregon, is pushing for a resolution, with just one year remaining on his contract.

I wasn't aware that Fisher had a son that was currently at Auburn. If nothing else, he should be able to know as much as possible about Cam Newton.
