It was reported yesterday on ESPN that Dick LeBeau's contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers expires at the end of the season. If you are reading this blog I probably don't have to tell you how good of a defensive coordinator LeBeau is. He is credited with inventing the zone blitz, and he was the DC for the 2005 and 2008 Super Bowl Champion Steelers.
LeBeau is a 3-4 guy, but if anyone could install a 3-4 in an offseason it would be LeBeau. He might be the best defensive coordinator in the history of the NFL, and the Titans would be foolish to pass on an opportunity to add him to the staff. Of course all of this is probably a mute moot point because the Steelers would be foolish to let him walk away, and if they do he will probably either retire or head to Arizona to work with Ken Wisenhunt and Russ Grimm who he worked with in Pittsburgh. The Cardinals are currently without a defensive coordinator after firing Billy Davis earlier this month.
