This afternoon is the annual East West Shrine Bowl. This game doesn't have the prospects that the Senior Bowl does, but there are still some guys here that are worth watching. The most important thing about the Shrine Game is the practices because that is where the NFL coaches and scouts get to really look at the guys on both rosters. The Titans had some personnel there this week, and Alfie from Big Cat Country was nice enough to send over a list of the players he saw the Titans people talking too.
The players included:
- Georgia LB Akeem Dent
- Iowa State S David Sims
- UCLA DT David Carter
- LSU G Joseph Barksdale
- Fresno State OLB Chris Carter
- Wisconsin QB Scott Tolzien
- Iowa DE Karl Klug
UNC DT Marvin Austin is regarded by most people to be the best prospect in this game, and has apparently shown up in good shape after sitting out the entire 2010 college football season. Alfie didn't mention the Titans as one of the teams that showed interest in him, but you can believe that he is on their radar.
