When Bud Adams said we could expect coaching changes, this isn't what I had in mind. The Tennessee Titans defensive line coach Jim Washburn has been in discussions with the Philadelphia Eagles about their opening for the same position. "The only thing I can confirm is he has been talking them,’’ Fisher said of Washburn and the Eagles, as per Jim Wyatt. "We are in the middle of it and going back and forth. I would think we’d find out in the next day or so.’’
Washburn is one of the few Titans coaches that has been stellar through thick and thin. As it has been noted many times, he creates stars. Some players that have flourished under Washburn that come to mind are Jevon Kearse, Albert Haynesworth, Kyle Vanden Bosch, and Jason Babin. From the Tennessean, the 11 defensive linemen that left the Titans since Washburn has been with the organization since 1999, have a $355 million plus change in their new contracts. Wow.
