Jim Wyatt tweeted earlier today that Michael Griffin would replace Steelers safety Troy Polamalu on the AFC Pro Bowl roster if Pittsburgh wins on Sunday because, as you probably remember, the Pro Bowl is now on the Sunday between the championship games and the Super Bowl.
I think having the Pro Bowl the week before the Super Bowl is a really dumb idea. At least this year they decided to move it back to Hawaii. Last year they played it in Miami because that is where the Super Bowl was. Has anyone heard if the players from the Super Bowl teams are going to be required to be there again this year? That was fine last year when it was in the same place as the Super Bowl, but it seems it would be a nightmare for those players to be required to be in Hawaii for a day or two right in the middle of preparation.
Anyway, here's to hoping that Griffin does get his shot to play in the Pro Bowl. It was good to see him return to form in 2010 after a disastrous 2009 season.
