Tennessee Titans Morning Links: Evidence Of Specious Logic Edition

New, comments

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Jim Wyatt had a big piece over the weekend on Titans QB and leader Vince Young. Vince still has his sights set on a HOF type of career, but if that's the case he needs to get booking on the stats and the rings. I think that would be just fine with every Titans fan from Donelson to Dubai.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Mike Florio doesn't let a complete lack of new news, minuscule amounts of hard evidence or his own specious logic get in the way of proclaiming approaching doom between CJ2K and the Titans. We all know the plotline: Johnson is underpaid, but has three years left on his contract.  It's possible CJ2K holds out, but I don't think he even knows what he will do at this point. The fact that he is skipping the voluntary workouts means absolutely nothing.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Good news for those who like making the best decision possible: the Titans are considering the CB position a top need as well as DE.  I think we'll all agree that those are our two most desperate needs, but it's more imperative than ever that we get a talented player who can make an impact from game one.

Follow us through the jump because today's harvest is mighty full with relevant links...

Tennessee_titans_30x21 The no. 16 spot has been sweet to the Titans in the past, bringing us Kearse and Music City Miracle lynchpin Kevin Dyson.  Sure Dyson was a career disappointment, but that was mostly due to injuries that no one could see coming.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 For those who haven't heard yet, the Steelers traded Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes to the Jets in the middle of the night.  Holmes is only 26, and one of the elite threats in the league, but he's also facing some surly charges and will start the season off with a 4 game suspension for violating the NFL's drug policy. If you want other reason's Holmes should be embarassed just check out the Deadspin archives, but not at work!

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Brandon Graham is the next big DE prospect the Titans are bringing in for a workout, and Wyatt is getting the vibe that he's a guy the Titans are strongly considering.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 PFW looks at the improvements punter Bret Kern made to his game after being cut by Denver and landing on the east bank of the Cumberland.  It also further confirms that Josh McDaniels is a bit of Billicheat/Parcells type of tyrant, even if he hasn't earned it.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Don Banks takes a look at Dez Bryant, and whether or not he compares to another highly-talented WR who slipped in the draft because of character concerns: Randy Moss.
