If you have some golf skills (or no shame) and a little extra time, there are still team spots available for the Tennessee Titans 12th Annual Charity Golf Classic to be held June 21st. Of course, a foursome will run you $4,000, but you'll get the chance to mingle with a lot of interesting folks including current and former players, cheeleaders and front office-types.
PFW recaps Fisher's comments from the combine press conference, which mainly dwell on wantingto keep many of our major free agents and acknowledging that the AFC South is one of the toughest divisions year-in and year-out in the NFL. However, it's Pat Kirwin who pulls the most insightful bit from Fisher's comments, which may tip the hand towards a shift in defensive strategy considering the scheme we've run for several years:
Fisher also talked about the rising trend in the league to build pressure defenses that also make the receiver releases tough to achieve. As Fisher said, "If you sit in zone coverages, these quarterbacks will pick you apart."
One of my biggest dissapointments from the combine was the hamstring injury to Boise State CB Kyle Wilson, which prohibited him from fully working out. Still, he measured in at a better-than-expected 5'10", 190 lbs, then threw up the 25 reps on the bench press. He's been Mike Mayock's fastest riser coming out of the Senior Bowl, and the quick, scrappy DB brings size and expereience (4 year starter for the contantly overachieving Broncos). Opinions on him vary, but now even Mel Kiper says the kid could be a first rounder.
