Chris Johnson was one of the players who's fire was pretty evident to me last Sunday, and now he's pleading for more carries in the play calling and a bigger commitment to the run from the offensive players. Ahmard Hall and Bo Scaife seconded Johnson's statements.. I just hope the coaching staff is listening, because for a coach who's preached balance so much over the past 16 years they've let an unholy number of games get away from them in that respect. When your QB is Kerry Collins and your Rb is Chris Johnson, I'd rather see three runs and a punt than three passes and a punt. Eventually CJ, who is still 6th in the NFL in rushing with a healthy 4.3 YPC average despite being virtually ignored over the past two weeks, will bust a run that gets the offense moving and make the defense adjust.
Jared Cook was our best receiver by far on Sunday, and that combined with his solid special teams play has lead to Jeff Fisher's announcement that the Cookie Monster will be getting more looks over the last four games. Lets hope there's more legitimacy to this declaration than the one about getting Ringer more involved, because Cook has earned more shots on the field if for no other reason than the terrible play of Scaife and the limitations Stevens presents in the passing game.
Kenny Britt is on track to come back for tomorrow's game, and that could mean a dip in plays for Randy Moss. Moss says he's fine with that if it helps the team, further disappointing journalists who are dying for a smart-aleck comment from the veteran WR.
Kerry Collins says the pain and swelling in his middle finger are no longer a big issue, but he's still adjusting to the fact that it will never be straight again.
I believe David Climer is now the first local writer to seriously and openly call into question whether Jeff Fisher will be back next year.
Ric Flair will be the Honorary 12th Titan for the Colts game tomorrow. That is all.
Bo Scaife discussed how pissed he was after his drop last week, and how close he got to 'pulling a VY' after the game (his words, not mine).
News Channel 5 talks about a new product many Titans are using to stay warm as the temperature continues to drop: Warm Skin. The balm is rubbed onto the skin and works like Vaseline to insulate it, but doesn't leave a greasy mess. the product is pretty common up north, but currently isn't distributed in Tennessee.
Congrats to Titans team doctor Burton Elrod (the guy with the silver Hulk Hogan mustache who runs on the field when players are hurt) for being named one of the top Knee Surgeons in America by the venerable trade publication Becker's Orthopedic and Spine.
