The Titans Were the Only Team to Claim Randy Moss: That Is A Good Thing

I was shocked when the Titans were awarded Randy Moss off waivers, and I was even more shocked when I found out that they were the only team to claim him.  The problems with Moss have been well chronicled, and there is no doubt that he has lost a step in the last couple of years, but he is still an elite receiver when he wants to be.  I think the fact that no one else claimed him on waivers will provide with a little motivation to "want to be" that guy for the next 8 games.

Think about it this way- Moss is a free agent at the end of the season, and there wasn't another team in the NFL that was willing to take him on right now.  That should be an indication to him that right now there isn't a team that will give him significant money after the season.  I don't think it is any secret that money is the biggest motivating factor for Moss, but that isn't a bad thing for the Titans because it should keep him from quitting on routes and causing problems in the locker room.

I laugh when I hear the guys on EAPN talking about it not being a good move.  I didn't see PTI yesterday, but I have heard that they didn't like the move because Vince Young doesn't throw the deep ball very well.  That right there should tell you all you need to know about how informed the national media guys are when it comes to the Titans.  They need to quit HATTEN!
