Vince Young has responded to this whole debacle in a conversation with Adam Scheffter, and the one thing that's clear is that he doesn't get it. Unless you think Vince Young is the only player in the NFL frustrated with his coaches, you have to agree. Hollow apologies don't matter. Empty remorse doesn't matter. What matters is what you do, and Vince Young whined like a child and ran away ON A TEAM THAT IS .500. That's why he'll never start again for the Titans unless Bud Adams fires Fisher this afternoon.
No defense in the NFL has fallen as fast or as hard as the Titans. This unit is failing in every key area [sacks/pressure, turnovers, 3rd down, redzone, etc.] and they're doing it against terrible offenses. Even when they stumble into a chance to win they commit stupid penalties that give the game away. Can they turn it around? Possibly. Will they? Probably not.
I agree with Paul Kuharsky on Vince Young. This is what it has come to, people.

DIARY OF A FAIL v.2 from around the league, with some notable quotes from Deion Sanders and Michael Irvin:
Sanders:
"I had to get on the phone and call some folks and get the 4–1-1. They told me Vince is really upset because every time he messes up, they place Kerry Collins in the game. But when Kerry Collins messes up or someone else, nothing happens, and he just got fed up with it. He wanted to go back in the game."
Irvin:
"Let me tell you something. Vince Young needs to be the starting quarterback for that team. Make no mistake about it. The way he’s played and his win-loss record says that. But there are some things that Vince Young is doing that cannot happen from the quarterback position. You can’t throw your pads in the stands. You cannot walk off and not speak to the media because you are the leader. That’s the time to speak to the rest of your team through that thing right there we call a camera."

This was the most stunning thing Jeff Fisher said after the game yesterday because it betrayed just how upset he is with Vince as a player in addition to his maturity issues... you never hear him crush a player like he does here:
"Randy was open, Randy was open early in the game," Fisher said. "It's not Randy's fault..."
Kerry Collins can't save us now. It's Rusty Smith or bust. That being said, you better believe that Kerry will come back before he's ready. The results may be ugly, but it could be better than any other options we have.
