Tennessee_titans_30x21 If you're going to compare the two, Vince Young has it a little better than Kenny Britt in terms of the severity of their injuries. Young looks quite likely to start in two weeks as the team comes off the bye week, where as Fisher sounds relieved that Britt's injury isn't season-ending:

"He may miss some time,'' Fisher said. "We're going to treat him very aggressively, and we'll have more information after we return from the off weekend. If it was a season-ending injury I would tell you right now it is season-ending. No, it is not.''

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Through the first six games the Titans' defense gave up a stellar 24 of 83 third down conversions, for a 71.1% success rate. Over the past two weeks the Titans' defense has given-up 22 of 36, dropping that rate down to 39%. You can blame part of that on the quality of opponents, but not very much: you've got to stop great offenses on their down or bad things will happen.

Real-life got in the way again this morning, preventing me from doing a full links post. WIth a little luck, I'm hoping to do a companion post this afternoon with some more out of the way stuff...

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Joe Biddle just came up with a headline about how the Titans have 'much to improve to make the playoffs', then wrote a whole article where he doesn't mention anything other than VY/KB's injuries, time of possession and the 3rd down issues he's already had two other writers explore. If you're going to lead in with a headline like that shouldn't you at least bring up the terrible O-line run blocking, the inefficiency in the running game, Chris Hope on the decline and a troubling habit of getting back-breaking personal-foul penalties at terrible times in a comeback?

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Alterraun Verner has been so impressive through the first half of the year that he's the only Titans rookie I can ever remember who unseated two veteran players within 7 weeks. His progress has really gone a long way to off-set the loss of Derrick Morgan on a defense that looked starved for playmakers heading into training camp.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Maybe it's a blessing that we get the Dolphins at home coming out of the bye, because they have yet to win a game on their home field, and stand undefeated on the road

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Ellis Hobbs did as much as anyone to make Kenny Britt a household name in that Eagles game, and as a result he's headed for the bench as the Eagles come out of their bye week.
