While it was disappointing to see Vince go down after just five pass attempts, it was out right sexy watching this defense just destroy a divisional opponent. Sure, Collins vs. Edwards won't go down make any list of great MNF match-ups, but a win is a win is a win. Vince will have tests on his knee today, though he said last night that the knee didn't hurt nearly as much as it did when he hurt it in 2008. We'll keep you posted as this will definitely be THE story as the team prepares to host Philadelphia on a short week.
Sorry for the small links post today, folks. Real life gets in the way sometimes!
I know one guy who loved how last night's game played out: Javon Ringer. Ringer got a career number of carries and went 10 carries for 42 yards. Chris Johnson was bottled up all night until that final TD run, and Ringer really did a nice job showing that he can run, catch and pick-up the blitzes while Kerry Collins played statue in the backfield.
Alterraun Verner is clearly the second best cornerback on this team, even when everyone is healthy. As such, it seems like he has to remain the starter when McCourty comes back. Three starts, two INTs, solid tackling and no notable burnings... that's a hell of a start for a 4th round rookie.
Congrats are also due for Damian Williams, who has been taking advantage of his reps in practice with Kerry Collins to become a target he obviously searches out when he's in there.
Ahmard Hall is due to be a free agent at the end of the season, and he signed agent with Drew Rosenhaus over the weekend. The Titans will also be working with Rosenhaus on a contract for Stephen Tulloch this off-season, probably not so much for Bo Scaife who figures to get over-paid.
