This is going to be my final post dealing with Thursday night's game. From reading all the comments over the last couple of days, it seems that the reason we are the most frustrated is because this loss felt so much like the loss that ended our season last year. The good news is that the Titans proved to the nation what we as fans already knew, they can play with anybody in this league. If they can clean up a few things on special teams and with Chuck Cecil's scheme everything is going to be just fine.
Paul Kuharsky made the comment Thursday morning that last season the Titans spent all of last season complaining about not getting any respect. He said that winning the game against the Steelers would get them the respect that they were begging for all of last season.
Well the Titans didn't win the game, and already people have made comments here and on the radio that all ESPN and the like are talking about is the Steelers. No respect for the Titans. Well I say that this is not the worst thing in the world. Jeff Fisher thrives on preaching to his team that no one respects them. The players feed off of the "respect card."
There is only one way for the national media to "respect" the Titans, and that is to be holding the Lombardi Trophy when the curtains are close on the 2009 season. Here is to hoping they get that respect.
