David Whitley turns in the best piece on McNair's Mississippi funeral I've found, including a timeless quote that was displayed on the church sign across the street:
"We Are Called To Be Witnesses. Not Lawyers or Judges."
Few people are taking this loss as hard as Vince Young, and his words at McNair's Mississippi funeral bore that out:
Speaking at the memorial service for his mentor, Steve McNair, on Saturday in Hattiesburg, Miss., a tearful Young looked at Tyler and Trenton McNair and said:
"I used to walk, talk and try to be like Steve every day. And to see you all sitting right there, my brothers, I want to let you know I am here … if you need me for anything, the same thing he did for me, I am here for you all."
Steve McNair porbably won't make it to the Hall of Fame, but don't think for a second that means his story will ever be forgotten.
Few emails we get here at MCM travel further around the world than the ones from Pinoy Titan, and none of them will bring you a better breakdown of Filipino pioneer and starting left guard Eugene Amano.
Several of the core players from the '99 team weigh-in here with their thoughts and memories of heir time with Steve and that magical Super Bowl run.
