Tennessee Titans Afternoon Links: When 0-6 Feels Like 0-59 Edition

Tennessee_titans_30x21 David Climer writes his first good column in years:  This is the worst Titans team ever.  Now, I do caution against people judging this team too early.  It'll be games against less talented teams like San Francisco, St. Louis, Buffalo and Seattle, combined with how we play the second time through our division, that define this team for me.  I'd still take them over the 2004 and 2005 squads.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 While some part of me still hopes Bill Belicheat gets hit by a truck some day, I can't fault him for running up the score yesterday.  I'll say the same thing I said when they were doing it in 2007: if you don't like it, stop them.  This isn't college where resources and personnel are wildly different from team to team, and when the playing field is level, pity is more insulting than destruction in my book.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Sitting at 0-6, and having just been creamed by 59 points, how could wholesale changes not be on the way?  As Jimmy and I discussed last night I wouldn't expect to see coaching changes, but I didn't expect to see this terrible display either so who knows anymore...

Follow us through the jump for more info on the Steve McNair piece CBS is running tomorrow...

Tennessee_titans_30x21 The Tennessean has the early part of the CBS Steve McNair report, and it's real effin' dumb.  Of course the people who loved her don't think she could do this, but that doesn't change the fact that she did.  As for the new evidence?  This gem from the comments section says it all:

"Watch more tomorrow. I will expose how Kazemi was actually watched 'Weekend at Bernies', not 'Weekend at Bernie's II' as was reported in the police report, the Tuesday before McNair was shot".

This report brought to you by Highlights, the children's magazine that you used to read as a kid in the dentist's office and look for differences between the two pictures on the back.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Peter King uses his sources to give us a different preview of the CBS expos that's coming out tomorrow morning.

3. I think it'll be interesting to watch Armen Keteyian's story on the CBS morning show Tuesday, because it could prove there was something more than a casual business relationship between Steve McNair's girlfriend, Sahel Kazemi, and Adrian Gilliam Jr., the man who sold Kazemi the gun she used to kill McNair and herself.

Keteyian, an investigative reporter with CBS News, will report that there was more than the "casual, happenstance'' relationship described by Nashville police between Gilliam and Kazemi. Rather, I'm told the report will reveal "a stunning number of phone calls and text messages'' between the two in the days leading up to the murder/suicide. So now the story gets deeper. At the very least, it could force police to confront why they didn't find the phone records that Keteyian found, and to delve into what they mean.

So, our options are still down to the girlfriend who obviously did this, and ninjas.

Tennessee_titans_30x21 Former front office man turned journo-blogger Mike Lombardi says we should expect a few calls as the trade deadline approached this year:

If I were working in the NFL today, I might want to call the Titans since it looks like they might be offering all their players in a fire sale.
