Chris Brown Signs with the Houston Texans

Chris Brown agreed to a 2 year deal with the Houston Texans yesterday.  The deal is for $3.6 million and an $800,000 signing bonus.  The Titans had no interest in signing Brown so the only surprise here is that he found another team so quickly.  Especially when he couldn't find anyone at all last year.  It will be interesting to see if he comes back to haunt the Titans being in the same division, but he will probably be hurt for at least one of the games.

The most interesting thing from the article linked above is that Michael Roos has told the Titans to get a long term deal done with him before this season, or he will walk when he becomes a free agent at the end of 2008.

"It was Michael's idea,'' Foster said. "Michael is a smart guy and he loves Tennessee and wants to stay there. But he also knows how things work and knows it's a business. He doesn't want to deal with any distractions once the season starts.

"He wants to get a deal done now.''

There is nothing more important to this team than locking up Roos long term.  When you have a Pro Bowl caliber left tackle there is no such thing as overpaying.  They should work that deal out yesterday.
