NFL Free Agency Update

Once again the Titans have been very quiet early in free agency.  The good news is that none of the guys we have talked about them targeting are off the board.  There was a report yesterday that the Seattle Seahawks were close to signing Alge Crumpler, but he left Seattle last night without a contract.

There hasn't been much action thus far on Bernard Berrian, Donte Stallworth or D.J. Hackett yet.  I would expect the Titans to bring one or more of those guys to Nashville for a visit sometime in the coming week.

The only Titans free agent that has signed so far is Randy Starks.  Bill Parcells and the Miami Dolphins obviously didn't watch any film on Starks before making that deal.  Antwan Odom and Travis LaBoy have done some visiting but haven't signed anywhere yet.

I am not surprised to see the Titans stay out of the early market.  There is a lot of stupid money being thrown around, and the Titans proved last year they won't participate in that.

Update [2008-3-1 17:52:5 by Jimmy]: Dawgs by Nature is reporting that the Cleveland Browns have signed Donte Stallworth. I am not real sure why the Titans would make a push for him last year but not this year.

Update [2008-3-1 18:2:0 by Jimmy]: The Daily Norseman is reporting that the Minnesota Vikings have signed Bernard Berian. Good thing I wrote earlier that the Titans would try and bring those guys to Nashville. Hackett was my last choice, but I think at this point the Titans have to give him a look.
