Jevon Kearse Released by the Eagles and Other Notes

As mentioned here by Vincanity, the Philadelphiia Eagles have released Jevon Kearse.  Does the idea of having The Freak in Nashville again intrigue me? Of course, but I don't think he is worth it.  He only played in 2 games in 2006 after tearing an ACL.  Last season he played in 14 games but only recorded 3.5 sacks.  Part of that might be because it takes a full year to come back from an ACL injury, but I don't think he has anything left.  Now if he will agree to take the veteran minimum and fight for a spot in camp, I am all for it, but I think someone will throw some money at him.

Kevin Carter was also released, but I don't think he has anything left either.  He would be a great guy to help teach the younger players, but I expect he will retire.

As DannoE mentioned, the Titans did offer tenders to David Stewart and Bo Scaife today.  I really hope the Titans will use this season to work out a long term deal with Stewart.  He has the ability to be one of the best right tackles in the league.  They should go ahead and lock him up long term in a time where they have some cap money because he would command huge money on the open market.

Scaife is a nice player, and I am glad they are going to bring him back, but Stewart is much more important to the franchise long term that Scaife is.
