The free safety position will be wide open when camp starts in July. So far Calvin Lowry and Lamont have been taking the majority of the reps with Vincent Fuller and Brian Scott rotating in. This is going to be a fun battle to watch when training camp opens. I really like this quote from defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz:
The other defensive position battle to keep an eye on is middle linebacker. Both Tulloch and Fowler are excited about the opportunity to compete for the shot according to Terry McCormick.
Rookie WR Paul Williams was finally able to join the team yesterday. He has been at Fresno State finishing up the school year. Rookies are not allowed to be at OTAs until after their school's graduation date. How hard would it be to focus on exams when you know you are about to start your NFL career? P. Williams will probably be a little behind for a few days because of the time missed, but he should be ready to compete for a spot soon.
There is a possibility that Jeff Fisher could meet with the commissioner about Pacman's appeal according to Jim Wyatt. Fisher said he was not able to comment because conversations between teams and the league are confidential.
Yesterdays injuries: DE Travis LaBoy (knees), CB Ryan Smith (hamstring), CB Cortland Finnegan (hamstring), WR Jonathan Orr (hamstring) and RB LenDale White (hamstring) did not practice. DT Jesse Mahelona did not practice. Fisher said he was not feeling well, but Mahelona was seen in the locker room with his hand wrapped.
