Kevin Mawae played a huge role in the success of the 2006 Titans. Mawae, who is now a 13 year veteran, was the glue that held the O-line together. It is key to have a leader on a squad with so much inexperience. Mawae did a great job of providing that leadership.
Mawae was among a group of 4 free agents (Mawae, Givens, Thornton and Hope) that were brought in by Floyd Resse before the '06 season. Reese targeted guys with strong leadership qualities to lead a Titans team with very little veteran presence.
It is exciting to have a guy like this with the Titans. Look for him to anchor this offensive line for the next few years.
