It is a bit of a slow news day. Nick Harper returned to practice yesterday. He shared reps with Reynaldo Hill and will be a game time decision. Kevin Mawae and Benji Olson both missed practice yesterday. It appears unlikely that Mawae will play. Olson will be a game time decision, but considering this could be the last game of his career, I expect we will see him in there. LenDale White was limited yesterday, but he will be fine to go tomorrow.
There really isn't a whole lot to preview about this game. These two teams know each other very well and should be prepared for whatever the other one does. I expect the Titans to take the same approach against Peyton Manning as they have the last 3 meetings. Sit back in coverage and count on the front four to get pressure. They will try to keep things in front of them and limit the possessions Manning gets in his time in there. The worst thing that could happen would be for Manning to put together a couple of 4 play drives with a big play for a TD.
Offensively the Titans will come out and try to establish the run. Again, they are going to want to keep the ball away from the Colts, and the best way to do that is to control the ball on the ground. The Colts are a lot better defensively than they have been in the past, but the Titans still should be able to move the ball with LenDale.
I can't remember the last time I was this nervous about a game. There is so much riding on this young team, and I just hope they don't count on the Colts rolling over because they don't have anything to play for. They are not going to want to lose to the Titans, especially at home. I think the Titans will win, but I don't think it will be in a route.
You can also use this thread as your open thread for the New England Patriots and New York Giants game. I really, really hope the Giants win.
