Carolina Panthers @ Tennessee Titans Defensive Preview

   VS.

The Panthers will come to LP Field on Sunday with a very similar game plan as the Titans.  They will try to establish the run.  Carolina has 2 very good running backs in DeShaun Foster who has 466 yards on the season and DeAngelo Williams who has 303 yards.  Foster is the back who get the bulk of the work.  He is more of a power runner.  Williams is a speed back who has the ability to take it to the house every time he touches the ball.

David Carr is expected to start at quarterback for the Panthers.  The Titans are very familiar with him from his days with the Houston Texans.  He has been dinged up all season long, so I expect the Titans to do everything they can to get pressure on him.  Carr's biggest weapon, of course, is Steve Smith.  Smith is the other big play guy in the Panthers' offense.  I expect the Titans to roll the coverage his way in an attempt to make sure he doesn't beat them.  They will probably try to jam him at the line with a corner and have safety help over the top.

If the Titans can keep up the stout run defense that they have shown this season, they should be able come away from this game 6-2.
