When I looked at the schedule before the season started I was afraid the Titans would be entering this week with 0-2 wins. I have been pleasantly surprised.
The Titans might get off to a slow start in this game but I think they will pick it up and win fairly easily. VY will have his best game yet, setting career highs in rushing and passing yards.
Titans 28 Texans 17
This is a fun time of year around the NFL because the playoff races are really starting to shape up. There is a post over at Turf Show Times, our Rams blog, with SB Nation playoff predictions. Here is my take on the games of the weekend:
Raiders (2-10) @ Bengals (7-5)
Not much to say about this game. It is a must win for the Bengals to give them a good shot at an AFC playoff berth and they should win easily.
Raiders 10 Bengals 31
Vikings (5-7) @ Lions (2-10)
Believe it or not the Vikings are still right in the thick of the playoff hunt at 5-7. Wouldn't it be nice if the Titans were in the NFC? This should be an easy game for the Vikings because they have a lot to play for. The only thing the Lions have left to play for is Brady Quinn.
Vikings 24 Lions 14
Ravens (9-3) @ Chiefs (7-5)
This is one of the more intriguing games of the weekend. Kansas City is very tough at home in December and Baltimore is coming off of a tough loss to Cincinnati. The Ravens will have a tough time overcoming the atmosphere at Arrowhead.
Ravens 13 Chiefs 17
Patriots (9-3) @ Dolphins (5-7)
The Dolphins have picked up of late, last week not withstanding, and have won 4 out of their last 5. The Patriots are the Patriots. They are never flashy but they always win games. Tom Brady and crew will prove to much for the resurgent Dolphins
Patriots 28 Dolphins 16
Falcons (6-6) @ Bucs (3-9)
The Bucs are one of the year's biggest disappointments. A lot of people thought they were poised to make another run at the playoffs. Simms got hurt and that all went out the window. The Falcons are somewhat of an enigma. Some weeks they look like one of the best teams in the NFC and sometimes they look like one of the worst. They still have playoff hopes and the Bucs do not.
Falcons 27 Bucs 16
Eagles (6-6) @ Redskins (4-8)
The Titans saw the Eagles 3 weeks ago without McNabb and it was not pretty. They did rally a little Monday night to get a big win against the Panthers. The Redskins have given the keys to Jason Campbell and he has been decent. I think this is a dangerous game for the Eagles.
Eagles 17 Redskins 24
Giants (6-6) @ Panthers (6-6)
This battle of mediocraty has huge playoff implications. The winner will be in the driver's seat for a playoff spot. The Panthers wil have to start Captain Weinke because of the thumb injury to Delhomme. FSU QB's never win in the NFL.
Giants 17 Panthers 10
Colts (10-2) @ Jags (7-5)
Is it possible for both teams to lose? That is what I will be cheering for. The Jags are always knocking on the door but no one ever lets them in.
Colts 24 Jags 14
Seahawks (8-4) @ Cardinals (3-9)
The Cardinals were supposed to be good but they are not. The Seahawks are finally healthy and could be the best team in the NFC.
Seahawks 34 Cardinals 21
Packers (4-8) @ 49ers (5-7)
I wonder if anyone will watch this game. The 9ers still have a legitimate playoff shot. The Packers do not but Favre loves to play spoiler.
Packers 28 49ers 24
Bills (5-7) @ Jets (7-5)
Many experts thought the Jets were going to be really bad this year. I thought one of the Titans best shots to get a win this year was the Jets. They have turned out to be good and they have a favorable schedule the rest of the way. Buffalo has JP Losman as their QB.
Bills 7 Jets 24
Broncos (7-5) @ Chargers (10-2)
Jay Cutler will make his 2nd start and it doesn't get any easier. The Chargers are probably the best team in the AFC. LT and the Chargers will prove to much for the Broncos to handle.
Broncos 21 Chargers 31
Saints (8-4) @ Cowboys (8-4)
I hate the Cowboys and Tony Romo isn't as good as ESPN wants to make us believe.
Saints 24 Cowboys 21
Bears (10-2) @ Rams (5-7)
This game should be a blowout but Rex Grossman will find a way to keep it close with a couple of INTs.
Bears 19 Rams 14
What say ye on the Titans and the games of the weekend?
