....the Houston Texans represented by Duffer select....

Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida

As much as we may hate to admit it, Titans and Texans fans alike know who the cream of the AFC South is, and they are led by number 18 in the white jersey. He's not too bad at throwing the ball, and he has some guys who aren't too bad at catching the ball. In all of the NFL, and in this division especially, stopping the passing attack is critical. The Texans have a promising young D-line, highlighted by Amobi Okoye and Super Mario, that they hope will be getting after the passer for years to come. When it comes to covering the receivers, the Texans have a notable hole. Dunta Robinson is a stud, but he is going to miss at least half the year due to injury. The current guys on the roster that are fighting to take his spot aren't exactly scaring opposing offensive coordinators. The Texans feel lucky that Jenkins is still on the board at this spot, as they believe he is the most NFL ready corner in the draft. He should provide an immediate upgrade at the starting corner spot.
