Tennessee Titans 2008 Schedule Released

The NFL released the 2008 schedule today, and the Titans got 2 nationally televised games.  The first comes on Monday October 27th when the Colts will come to LP Field for Monday Night Football.  The second comes on Thanksgiving Day when the Titans travel to Detroit to take on the Lions.

Tennessee Titans 2008 Schedule

Week 1 vs. Jacksonville
Week 2 @ Cincinnati
Week 3 vs. Houston
Week 4 vs. Minnesota
Week 5 @ Baltimore
Week 6 BYE
Week 7 @ Kansas City
Week 8 vs. Indianapolis* MNF
Week 9 vs. Green Bay
Week 10 @ Chicago
Week 11 @ Jacksonville
Week 12 vs. New York Jets
Week 13 @ Detroit* Thanksgiving
Week 14 vs. Cleveland
Week 15 @ Houston
Week 16 vs. Pittsburgh
Week 17 @ Indianapolis

These schedules never shake out the way they look at first glance, but the Titans better be in good shape when they start December because that is a tough 4 game stretch to end the season.

There's at least 10 wins on that schedule...
...but once again, we'll be in MUCH better shape if they can pull it out in Week 1.  Heh.  Nothing like an all-out war to start the season.

My prediction:

Jacksonville - L
@ Cincinnati - W
Houston - W
Minnesota - L
@ Baltimore - W
@ Kansas City - W
Indianapolis* MNF - W
Green Bay - W
@ Chicago - W
@ Jacksonville - L
New York Jets - W
@ Detroit* Thanksgiving - W
Cleveland - W
@ Houston - W
Pittsburgh - L
@ Indianapolis - L

From this, I'd say that this is the year Jax takes the AFC-South from Indy, that Minneapolis will DOMINATE their piece of the NFC, and that Houston takes a step backwards next year.

Anybody else?

Flip Flop!
We have a good shot to win BOTH Indy games. The one at our house will be a toss up as usual. But the last game of the year Indy will be playing scrubs as usual. I think both are winable.
Someone once said "Vince Young bleeds two toned blue!" But I disagree, because The Great One Doesnt Bleed!!

I don't think so.
They're gonna take a step back this year.  That loss to SD last year hurt, and it'll be a while before they get over it.  Plus, I doubt Marvin Harrison will EVER be the same again.  Which means that teams will figure them out eventually.  So, yes, I agree that the Titans can win both games, but no, I wouldn't count on scrubs again this year.

But then again, Chris Brown is now a Texan.  That's worth seven points right there.

You're onto the first game thing
I wanted to comment on that, too.

Week ONE! Jacksonville.

Remember last year what happened? We ran all over those guys when the prediction was very opposite of that.

I just wonder with Jacksonville looking to be better than last year if they plan on returning the favor.

We really, really need to get off to a good start. I don't know if I am biased and just pay more attention to our team, but the Titans seem to wear things on their sleeves more than other teams. A moral week one dominating victory goes further with the Titans morale than with other teams I think.

(Rock n Roll Titans!)

kinda rough schedule,
but our division ensures it's going to rough for years to come... most our out-of-division foes aren't teams that worry me a ton (Chicago, Minnesota, Cleveland, KC, Baltimore, Detroit).

If we can't play the AFC East (all horrid except for the Patriots), I'll take the ultra-sucky NFC North anyday!

Nice to get some more prime-time love as well!

That's what I thought, too.
Basically, I though that the Titans could beat EVERYBODY except the Colts and Jags, with whom I think we can only hope they split.  Now, no doubt there will be at least one bad dropped game (here I'm thinking of Tampa last year, but there were others), but still... I think ten wins is a reasonable goal here.

Thanksgiving.
If my GF complains about football this year, I'll....

...okay, I don't know what I'd do, let's just hope she doesn't complain.

Great
If we can knock off Jacksonville coming to town the first week of the season, I think we can start out 6-0. That is if we don't play everyone like we played the Bengals last year. One other note -- Two playoff teams, Eagles and Browns, get 5 primetime games, while the Titans, a playoff team from last year, get one and a Thanksgiving game? OK, but no respect! My prediction --- 13-3
