With the 5th Pick in the MCM Mock Draft
....the Kansas City Chiefs represented by Chris from Arrowhead Pride select....

Jake Long, offensive tackle, Michigan
After seeing dozens of mock drafts in recent weeks that had Jake Long going before the Chiefs picked at #5, I'm excited to actually be able to draft him in a mock draft. The Chiefs needs on the offensive line are painfully obvious -- KC had arguably the worst offense in franchise history last season. Much of that was due to an inability to run the ball which stemmed from a patchwork offensive line that steadily worsened as the season wore on.
Even with an all star running back in Larry Johnson, the Chiefs ranked dead last in rushing the ball last year. Dead. Last. And that's after Larry Johnson rushed for over 3,500 yards the previous two seasons combined. Among many things that deteriorated over the last few years in KC, the offensive line fell from grace the quickest.
The Chiefs two defensive options in the top five of this draft - Sedrick Ellis and Glenn Dorsey -- are already gone so choosing Jake Long is a no-brainer.

Do you still like Mangenius?
It'll be interesting to see how his 3-4 works once he's got the personel he needs to make it work. But personally, I thought he was a little stubborn about it last year given the players he actually had on the roster.

I like him
To me, Mangini has that Bilicheat-fascism-mixed-with-paranoia streak in him, but it remains to be seen if it will serve him as well as it has the elder.

Great Pick but....
KC's line was horrible last year and it showed so this would be a great pick for them. I think they would even look at more linemen later on in the draft with such good depth at the position. I know Herm has been talking it up with Matt Ryan and seems to really love the kid so he could also be a viable pick for KC.
