The 2008 Season Starts Today

OK, not really, but the Titans are beginning their offseason program today. Attendance is voluntary, *wink wink*, but it is expected that most players will be in attendance.

"We haven't had difficulty with attendance over the years,'' (Jeff) Fisher said "By and large, (strength coach) Steve (Waterson) makes it fun, so they enjoy coming in and working out.''

Two notable players who will not be in attendance today are Vince Young and Michael Griffin who are both enrolled in classes at the University of Texas.

There is no new news on the #32 trade talks. There has been a lot of debate about all that here, but in my mind, the bottom line is that he doesn't want to be here. Just take a minute and think about how bad he was in the locker room before, and then try and imagine what he would be like now. The only logical conclusion is for him to be traded.

Also, we will be starting our 2nd annual SB Nation mock draft next week. The draft will be hosted at Mocking The Draft. I will be updating the picks here as they go along, as well as asking for input on the Titans pick.

Albert shouldn't practice until

he signs the franchise tender. Until he does that he's not covered against injury (he's not technically a member of the Titans until he signs that tender).

As I remember it, once the franchise tender is signed the player can't sign a new contract until said season is over. Thus, they are hoping to get a new contract without having to actually sign the franchise tender.

I swear the NFL has the most convoluted method for paying employees that has ever existed.

The Tennessean article doesn't explain very much. That's interesting, too, because of the implication you pointed out - they must still be trying to get a contract done over the next month or so if they're hoping not to sign franchise tag tender. I think the mandatory stuff starts in May?

sometimes I think the Tennessean

still thinks Nashville is really still all college football fans, thus they don't get into much detail about NFL salary and rules unless they wanna look fancy for the townies!

Chicago - Marty Brooker at #62
Miami - not listed

Pac Man Gobble Gobble

Rumors have it Pac Man is gonna get traded to the Cowboys. I think the guy is a great player who just likes to do whatever he wants and have fun on his own time. I saw we trade Pac Man before he gobbles up all our money and time. We can deal him for a quality draft pick which could lead to getting a big wide out that is really needed.

Chad Johnson would be great. The Bengals like trouble makers, Chad Johnson wants to leave..
