The Redskins Want Chad Johnson. Why Don't the Titans?

If Chad Johnson is on the market the Titans should be at the front of the line to acquire him.  The Redskins apparently have some interest.  Why don't the Titans?  I am not suggesting the Titans give up the farm to get Johnson, but if he ends up getting moved for a hill of beans like Randy Moss did last season, and the Titans aren't on the receiving end, I am going to be angry.  The Titans have made a huge investment in Vince Young as the franchise quarterback.  I don't know why they aren't committed to getting him the weapons he needs to succeed.

There may be nothing to the Johnson/Redskins rumor thus rendering this post worthless, but it is something that I needed to put out there.

Maybe the Titans
don't want to deal with the baggage guys like Moss and Chad bring to the team.  We already have a guy like that we are trying to rid ourselves of.  That being said I would take either of them.  But I'm not running this asylum.

Johnson runs his mouth....
....but he isn't trouble besides that.  I don't think he is a risk.

I know
But maybe they see him running his mouth all the time and think that he would eventually bring the team down. I don't think anyone would look at the Cincinnati situation and say he was good for team chemistry.

For the record
I don't think he's a risk either, I really like him.   I'm just looking at it from the teams perspective.

That is true....
....but there are a lot of other contributing factors up there.

I agree
But there are better ways to show your disgust with your team and that you want to move on.

chad
would look great in a titan uniform and i hope his work ethic would rub off on some of our guys.  Look at all of the trouble the bengals have gotten into over the last few and chad wasn't one of them.  His only antics are only the field and it can't be as bad as some of the off the field problems teams encounter i.e. Adam Jones.  I won't ever refer to him as his other name.

BIGBADBULLOCK
what possible baggage does Chad Johnson bring to a team?  Do you even watch football or just make posts on websites without having a clue what you are talking about.  We need WRs and I don't think we are in the position to be choosers.  More or less we are beggars.  Chad is a great player and his only baggage is now when he is trying to leave a team that does not appreciate him for his talent anymore.

If you could read you'd see that I said I was looking at it from the teams perspective and I did not see him as a risk. I said I really like him.

Where do you morons come from anyway?  I think some people just come on these sites and read only what they want. Dudes got like selective reading skills or something.

Man you need to definitely read more before you comment. BBB has wrote many things on this site that proves he knows a little about this team. and I've never even seen you on here before.

SO RESPECT YOUR ELDERS. in a sense anyway not calling you old BBB.

Respect your elders
Oh please!  Since he has been on the site longer doesn't mean he deserves respect. I have been visiting this site quite often and just never posted.  I have viewed many of BBB posts and it does not seem as if he really knows much about football.  I think Chad would be a great addition to the team.  Especially his work ethic is his greatest quality.  Hopefully it rubs off onto some of our guys.

OK....
....let's stay away from the personal attacks.  It is fine to have differing opinions but there is no need to insult someone whether you have been here since day 1 or just since yesterday.

Yeah
Attacking BBB is not gonna make you any friends around here.

We are pretty good about disagreeing civilly on this site.

But, nice to meet you anyway!

Do you think you could give me some examples of posts that prove I don't know too much about football?  I would really like that!  Maybe I need to tweak a few things (LOL).  And fact of the matter is everyone on this site deserves respect, we all root for the same team and a lot of us have different opinions.  That being said, I can't believe that I'm trying to defend myself for not wanting someone that I really hope we get. (Wow how much sense does that make?)

BBB
First of all you need to move on.  Secondly, Jimmy asked us to drop it.  Finally, I have more important things to do then go back and look at all the silly lil posts you made.  Its true, we all root for the same team.  Just some of us have better opinions lol.

1st of all
He didn't ask us to drop it, he asked us not to make personal attacks.  And I will move on when I'm damn good and ready.  Just wanted some backing for your statements, which there are none of course.  So now I will move on cuz your waste of time comments don't and probably never will have any validity.

BBB
You should really move on.  I find this really entertaining.  I am so glad I decided to finally post and have what I feel being said.  OCHO CINCO in the music city sounds good to my ears.  I do disagree in a pleasant manner, I guess BBB gets too sensitive when someone doesn't agree with him.  Who knows...

My problem
with you is that you didn't initially disagree in a pleasant manner.  Still don't know what your disagreeing with LOL. And I already moved on.

What about Randy Moss?
He's a free agent in a couple of weeks. Maybe that's the train the titans are hooking up to?

johnson
if it were solely based on personality, i would much rather have chad johnson than moss. i don't think chad johnson beats women.

by kpocyclo on Feb 13, 2008 3:22 PM CST reply actions

Dunno
Who knows what all is going on behind the curtain.  Moss and Johnson both have had team disruption issues, but they both seem much more manageable to me than the cornerback-who-shall-not-be-named.  I'd love to see either one of them here, unless Moss really does beat women obviously - honestly I never heard where all that ended up.

Best would be a primo receiver that would be good at working with and being patient with a young QB.  I dunno if there is any such critter available.  So may WRs at that highest skill level are drama queens / prima donnas.

Ocho Cinco!
"I am not suggesting the Titans give up the farm to get Johnson"

I think the Redskins are, in fact, going to have to "give up the farm" to get Johnson.  Daniel Snyder has a BAD history of doing just that, and now, without Joe Gibbs to hold him in check... it ain't gonna be pretty.

This time next year, we're all gonna be sitting here saying, "What the Hell happened to Chad Johnson?"
